Our Youth Exchange “Breaking barriers through music” is finished, but the melodies performed are still in our minds!

For the exchange 31 young people from 3 European cross-border areas (triangles) came together in Prespa for a musical conversation. Music was used as a tool to help participants understand their own cultural background, history and traditions as well as the culture and mentality of the other participating countries. Through discussions, presentations, energizing games, cultural nights, workshops and rehearsals, participants realised what they have in common and learned about each participating country.

The impact of the Action 1 however was not limited to the participants, but it brought the concept of European integration and variety to our cross-border Prespa community and promoted a more positive awareness of other cultures. For 12 intensive days participants, with the help of a production team, worked towards a result in which the colour of variation united them all. The final result was presented during an open air concert with music and dance in the village of Laimos. The local cross-border community was invited to feel and understand the multicultural diversity as well as the unity of these young people, and the message of peace that the participants wanted to send. A nice moment of energy and emotion!
